What is the name of this book?

Science fiction story about a future where they have developed a replication machine that can reproduce anything a person could ever need, including other replicators and how society becomes dependent on these machines. I read about it in an article somewhere a long time ago and I can't seem to find it now. I thought it was called the A-Z machine, or the everything machine, but those titles don't get me anywhere. Can anybody tell me the author or title?

Anyway.... you can type in your description into the site below and "book sleuths" around the world then see it and try and help you work out the title of the book....
