Isn't it disrespectful to call A President Mr.?

I was watching the news just now and heard Sarah Palin call President Obama Mr. Obama. Is it not disrespectful for her to call him Mr. when he is the President of the United States?

Update:

I am cool with him being called Mr. I was just curious as to what the proper etiquette was in this situation.

Being "Mr. President" does not make him any less "Mr. Obama."

People refer to him as just plain "Obama" all the time. Why is adding "Mr." to the front it supposed to offensive? It sounds a lot more polite than simply calling him "Obama."

Shopgirl, i'm a company believer in TO GET admire you will desire to provide admire ! Obama has shown plenty disrespect for the american human beings........apologizing to different international places for us (whilst i believe no apology is due), calling those interior the Tea occasion, teabaggers and guffawing at them (those are only people who believe interior the U.S. shape, smaller government and much less taxes, yet i think their evaluations do no longer count variety)...... or maybe insulting those with the simplest issues like implying that folk who can in straightforward terms bowl a a hundred and twenty on the interest would desire to be retards.....

You American's are so funny. In Australia we call our PM by their first name and there's no offence taken. He's just a man voted in to represent the people for Christ's sake. BTW Sarah Palin is a laughing stock around the World

No, he is Mr. Obama. His title is President of the United States of America. When you speak with him in person, it is Mr. President.

It would be fine to call him Mr. President or Mr. Obama when referring to him and he's not there.

It is acceptable to address him as Mr. President, President Obama or Mr. Obama.

Yes it is disrespectful, but she is a politician so what can we really expect right?

It is President Obama, Mr President or as the media generally use Obama.

It is not disrepectful to refer to them as their last name only, but you wouldn't do it to his face or anything - more for written text or casual conversation.

The correct title would be President Obama. Even if someone addressed him by his first name, it would not make him any less of a President.

It's fine. Stop nit-picking on Sarah Palin.

Girlie is right, do you call him President Obama in your conversation?? No you say 'Obama' so that is more disrespectful than Mr. Obama.

Its President Obama. Yes, that's his title and yes, you refer to him as such. You don't call Dr Johnson 'Mr Doctor', you call him 'Dr. Johnson' because that's his title.
