what is this going to tell my doctor?

They got blood work on me and called me this morning with the news that one of my kidneys aren't working right. a number was too low. they want me to pea in a jug for 24 hours. what's that's supposed to tell them and what Numbers being too low is she talking about?

    It's going to tell them how well your kidney is working by how "pure" the urine is - if it is full of stuff the kidney is supposed to be filtering out, then it's not working properly. The level of contaminates will tell the to what extent it isn't working properly.

    Basically they will measure the amounts of things like protein urea potassium plus numerous others in the sample and use this yo judge how well your kidneys are working. Unfortunately without the report then it is impossible to say what number is to low, you will need to talk to your doctor please always ask if they say things you do not understand after all it is your body. Good luck it may turn out just to be an odd reading and everything is fine.
