How do I cope with this, please help?

Hi,

I am in my 20s, I live at home, go to school full time and I work full time. I have fibromyalgia ( a chronic pain condition) and endometriosis. I have pain every day, the pain doesn't go away. My family doesn't support me, they don't try to help me or understand where I am coming from. I try so hard day after day, I push through the pain and never stop even when it gets so bad that I have to force myself to get out of bed each morning...there are days where getting a shower and dressed are a major task but I still go to work and school. I don't know how to cope with the pain, it is causing a lot of stress for me and emotionally I am a wreck but no one knows. I hide it from my friends and my boyfriend...and my family doesn't care anyway so they don't know either. I know I need help but I don't know what to do, I would really appreciate any suggestions...thank you

Talk to your doctors about pain management. Many people have a hard time dealing with full time school or work or both without adding chronic pain to the list. There is no shame in cutting back from one or the other. If you can go to school part time or cut hours at work that will give you more time to relax and rest so you can do better at those activities.

You need to have people in your life that you can share your problems with, it is a huge relief to be able to talk to someone about your pains and struggles. If your friends and boyfriend can't be there for you then they simply aren't very good friends to you.

Find doctors that you can talk to, make friends that care and won't judge you. You don't have to be alone in life with your pain and struggles and shouldn't feel like you have to keep your pain a secret from those close to you.

Try talking to one of your friends, they may surprise you and be there for you.
