Who is more likely to win the rookie of the Year? John Wall or Blake Griffin? Any other candidates?

Both have had excellent pre-seasons and shown they can be impact players for their teams. And both are on teams that are likely not going to making a lot of noise in the post-season (if they can get there).

Great to see you back Nickster.

I think rookie of the year is gonna go John Wall's way. You've got to realize that Wall is an exciting point guard hyped up to be better than the current Derrick Rose. Also the fact that he comes straight from college while Griffin is a year removed. Fans can be very disinterested after a year (see nearly every "Cavalier" fan that existed outside of Cleveland in June 2010).

As to ability, both these guys are beasts. Griffin starting will get you a double double nearing about 16 points and 10 boards barring injury. He's physical yet nimble, large yet quick, and he's a focused player with the right mental attitude.

Wall is a guy who's probably gonna be in limbo minutes wise with the trainwreck that is the Gilbert Arenas situation. I'd hate to say it but I think Arenas will struggle playing off the ball when Wall's in the game. And guarding his position will be a tough job for Gilbert. I think Arenas is getting traded before the deadline so the Wizards can focus on rebuilding behind guys like Wall and McGee. That gets Wall more PT and bigger numbers going into the post-season.

I'm leaning towards Griffin being the better player but Wall winning ROY based on his market value. It's pretty hard for a Clipper to win ANYTHING.

Yes it will totally depend on which team has better record or their chances of making the playoffs!!

Usually the point guard has more advantage of winning a award like this since he is controlling the teams potential with his scoring and passing!!

I would pick John Wall right now but Blake Griffin will have good year as well.

    1. John Wall

    2. Blake Griffin

    3. Demarcus Cousins

(close between 1 & 2 though. both guys are really good from what they've shown so far in the preseason.)

John wall he is on a crapper team which means the ball will be in his hands a lot more. I also think Wesley Johnson might has a shot.
