does a murderer deserve to die?

he's killed one person, so does he? how about a serial killer, who's killed 10, or how about a terrorist whose killed thousands? when do you think we are justified (if ever justified at all) in taking another's life. i don't mean like personally but legally through "the system."

Update:

i know the laws of multiple countries i just want to know if you think it is justified for someone to be legally put to death for crimes.

Update 2:

well said "c2itu8it." i have to admit that has the potential to change everything on this sbject. people have killed but not murdered because it was in honest self defense.

In my opinion Hell yeah! But Ghandi once said "An eye for an eye makes the whole worlds blind." and that makes you think that maybe killing the person who kills makes us no better. Its an endless cycle if we kill.

They deserved to die during the commission of the crime and nothing they ever do can change that. We as a society owe it to the victim to track down the murderer and execute him immediately. Unfortunately, gross distortions of the intent of the Constitution over the years has swayed liberal sentiment to the point where it now makes economic sense to just let the dirtbag live his life in prison.

To be fair, a murderer should have drawn his last breath the moment he was caught killing, but got lucky that the victim was not able to kill him in self-defense. Such luck should in no way immunize the murderer from the well-deserved death that he already escaped.

I'm not comfortable with the state taking the lives of people they can remove from society by other means (imprisonment). He may deserve it, but I don't consider that justice as much as revenge. The state should not be in the revenge business.

If it's some random guy then no, they don't deserve to die. If it's somebody important to you then yes, they absolutely should die.

i dont think so because it would mean that we get to the same level as them .

Source(s): why do we kill people who kill people to show them that killing people is wrong?
