confused by Age of consent?

I'm a 17 year old gay man who is thinking about having relations with an older man, the massachusettes age of consent law is confusing. I don't want to get anyone in trouble but I'd like to know my true legal status in this matter

    with your state, it says

"Whoever unlawfully has sexual intercourse or unnatural sexual intercourse, and abuses a child under sixteen years of age shall... be punished..."

    but it also says

"Whoever induces any person under 18 years of age of chaste life to have unlawful sexual intercourse shall be punished."

Its the same way in my state, but my health class explained it to me.

You can have sex at 16 with people your age or with people who are 17 without getting anyone in trouble. You can't have sex with an adult or people under 16. After you are 18, you can have sex legally with anyone older.

The age of consent in Massachusetts is 16.

However, if you have sexual relations with someone over the age of 18 while still a minor, it is pedophilia.

It's 16 in the UK (don't believe that 'global' person, this varies from one state to another, much less one country to another.) In the US, it's generally 18 but some backward states may not have an actual stated age of consent for gay sex.

The only way to be sure is call the State Attorney General's Office. Or your local cop-shop. Don't worry, they get weirder questions every day.

Age of consent if 16 for males and 18 for females now when it comes to same sex relationship it doesn't says laws are invalidated. I am assuming it would then refer back to the age of consent for the person.Don't feel to bad, my state is the next one on the list and it is still illegal to have sex. But if this is a quality relatioinship. It might be wise to wait until you are 18.

Well, in Massachusetts, the age of consent is eighteen. I would suggest that you just wait the year.

Global age of consent is maximum (mostly 18) 21 years, so I would suggest you to wait one more year then you will be free to have intercourse legally.

When you are 18, you can consent to sex with someone over 21. If you don't tell anyone it will be fine in my opinion.
