Legal advice needed,payment and collections?
I had a root canal done yesterday. After the work was done, they had me sign a form acknowledging the work that was done. After that was when they showed me the bill and demanded payment in full. They do not accept payment plans and I do not have that kind of money as of right now. What can I do? I had to pay $200 there before I left, now they are demanding the rest by tomorrow. I have bills to pay and tomorrow is my last day I have work, planning a wedding and taking care of my parents, I CANNOT pay the rest off tomorrow! Please help!

Why would you have dental work done without asking how much it was going to cost? Did you think it would be free? I don't understand. But at any rate, they had no right to force you to pay anything yesterday or by tomorrow unless that was discussed prior to the procedure along with the amount of the procedure. Just tell them, "Look, I don't have that money and no one ever told me anything about it being due immediately or how much it was going to be so either set me up on a payment plan or go fu@k yourself." At that point, if they don't want a plan, then they will either turn you over to collections or sue you outright for the amount due. If they sue you and win, they will be able to place liens on property that you own as well as possibly garnish your wages until the debt is settled. If they are unwilling to let you pay in installments, i would contact an attorney immediately.

first off send them some money 10 dollars a week if you can if they get crappy about it they will send it to a collection agency send them what ever you can when you can talk to these people about your debt and try to set up some kind of payment plan just dont bury your head in the sand because they can take you to court in most ststes and get a judgement against you and then garnish your wages
