It'as a SCAM. A real bank is not going to use a free @madrid.com email and would NEVER contact anyone by email -- email is NOT considered a valid address. You would have received a certified letter sent to your home address if this were real. All Caja de Ahorros de Madrid emails end in @cajamadrid.es.

They don't have solicitors in Spain and don't use the term Esq. Solicitor is a British title and Esq is American. And that's NOT the phone number of Caja de Ahorros - they would NEVER use a pay as you go mobile number. The real bank phone number is +34 902 246 810 and I can guarantee they have no Rosemary Stednik working there

The bank's number is right at the top of their homepage in green http://www.cajamadrid.es/CajaMadrid/Home/cruce/0,0...

In Spain if someone dies intestate, the money can ONLY go to the spouse, children, grandchildren, siblings or first cousins. If none of these are found, the money reverts to the state. If you are not the son, grandson, brother or first cousin of Felix Burgess then you would have NO right to any money under Spanish law if you were not named in the will.

If you were named in the will, you wouldn't get informed by email. You would have received a certified letter in the MAIL to your home address inviting you to the reading of the will.

Delete this - everyone gets fake inheritance scam emails. There are only 20 people in the world with my surname - all living family members, because my grandfather changed the spelling in the 1930s. But I still get these knowing full well I have NO ancestors or relatives overseas with my surname -- because the name doesn't exist outside my immediate family, my grandfather, and my uncle and his kids.

Yes, of COURSE it's a scam. The million or so similar questions that have been asked here at Y!A should have given you a clue.

YES IT IS. as are all communications similar to this. you hope its real don't you? thats what they prey upon, the fact that you want it to be for real.

work hard, and you'll get what you're after. no one is going to give it to you.
