there never has been "multiculturalism" just "polyculturalism" where all the cultures run in parallel and don't intermingle

This is just another example of people not communicating with each other. It's too easy to whine to the government rather than talk to the people cooking & trying to make a living. It could have been solved so easily.
My husband BBQ's bacon outside because it does smell differently than it tastes ( we live in California so don't have to worry about the weather too much). I don't like the smell in the house but enjoy it to eat occasionally.
It's sad that England is having to deal with these culture issues. I thought your question was from the USA.
Source(s): The sin of racial pride that sees not the faith, that all men are divinely made, nor the riches of pigment in portrait faces, the same psychology and religious search, that each is the sibling for whom Christ died. (from The Oxford Book of Prayer) - 1 decade ago
In our nation the rights of the minority are protected, which is essential in a government ruled by the majority. Multiculturism is possible when these two concepts are appropriately balanced, but it is a very fine line to walk. However, for something as minute as the smell of bacon, this is bordering the ridiculous. Someone who is offended by the small of bacon needs to consider the bigger picture and realize that the world is not meant to bend to his/her every preference. Take the iniative to handle the situation for themselves, preferably in a private manner.

80% of British people don't like the barbaric cruel and sic practise of Halal.....But it seems that when it comes to Islam they are allowed to do as they please and the second class British citizens have no right to say anything, let alone put a stop to it. Even Germany has now stated that Multiculturalism is not working, is completely socially destructive to the indigenous people and needs to be brought to an end. I have a feeling that France will soon follow Germany's lead. Its a pity that parliament has deserted the interests of the people it is supposed to serve or it would have to come out and make the statement and start to address the problem BEFORE a civil war addresses it for them, because there is a slow smouldering resentment in this country that, if allowed to explode, will be violent to the extreme.

No, it just proves the Telegraph will scrape the barrel to publish anything that supports its bigoted views and diverts attention away from the harm being done to the country by its beloved Tory government.

It shows how much they actually want to interact. I have been to many places in the world and witnessed "locals" doing things I found unacceptable, but as it was acceptable in their culture I didn't complain. Then again if I did I would have been told to bugg@r off, one rule for us! It is meant to be a highway, obviously to some it is a one way street.

Multiculturalism is a massive failure, but this article is just bullshit. Perhaps Islam and the Akciecek's should both **** off where they won't bother each other and their small minds.

That's great isn't it? Never occurred to the offended to move. & I wonder if they even approached the deli owner to try & find a solution without brionging the govt into it?

Yes. In the case of Muslims it seems. Maybe they should pass down a different street.

Multiculturalism offers no avenue of respect for that for which a Nation stands.
