If a person gets benefits of a deceased husband - can this person also get medicare? The person is not yet 65.?

get medicare for their health benefits?

    medicare is automatically available to anyone over age 65.

    There are no exceptions to that.

    If the person is the spouse of someone who has earned enough credits to be eligible for Medicare A, they will be able to get those benefits, as long as they qualify (65 years of age, or medically disabled).

    If the person who the credits dies, the spouse is still entitled to the medicare.

    @Bobby769 If you haven't earned enough credits via employment, or your spouse, you have to pay a premium for Medicare A. It's pretty steep, too. So, yeah, you can get Medicare, but I'm not sure if it's much cheaper than private insurance, and likely the benefits aren't as good.

    No. They are two separate programs. You must be 65 to go on Medicare. You cannot go on your deceased husband's Medicare.

    If the person is 65 or disabled, sure, that's what Medicare is for. Being a widow has nothing to do with it sorry.
