Why does Google search always lag when I type now?

Since Google updated its search engine, the search box doesn't keep up with my typing. Its kinda frustrating.

    Turn off instant answers, try looking at the top right corner of the google home page.

    Not the HARDWARE

    I have an updated Haswell i7 System running 16Gb of fast Ram and have hundreds of gigabytes of spare hard drive space available and also run Windows 8.1 Pro x64 on a Samsung SSD and have a very very fast broadband connection (170Mb/Sec Download 70Mb/Sec upload)) and use a GTX 780 Graphics card; but I still get the DEeeeeeeeeeeLAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaY ....delay delay before anything appears.

    It's super frustrating! I don't know if it's lagging, or if it is just trying to assume it knows what you are looking for now, or what. But I hate it too!
