Hiya,
Having a colposcopy is pretty common so try not to worry too much. I had an abnormal test about a year ago now. A few weeks after finding out I went to have my colposcopy. The colposcopy is a bit painful and afterwards you feel like you have bad period pains. If you can it's a good idea to go with someone for a bit of support. The cramps don't last for too long though. You may also bleed a little for a few days. When I got the results I had to have a loop biopsy, to remove some more cells, if you do have to have one of these it's fine, sounds worst than it is! It's less uncomfortable than a colposcopy. Since then I've had two smear tests that were totally fine. Keep positive and I hope all goes well.

you may feel some cramping for a few minutes afterwards, especially if you're nervous, but probably not as much is you remain calm. i had one and it wasn't as bad as i thought. it takes only slightly longer than a pap smear. don't worry, you'll be fine. good luck!

You may feel pinches here and there. you can take a tylenol (call and ask your doctor if that's okay)
