Find an appropriate subject. (Panorama can also be vertical, like a tall building.) Set your camera on a sturdy tripod. Use a remote shutter release. Set an appropriate aperture (relative small/large f-number). Set your shutter to match the overall exposure. (Set both the aperture and shutter speed in manual mode.) Use mirror-lock up mode. (Pentax, use 2-second delay shutter setting.) Compose your first shot. (To shoot a horizontal panorama, set the camera into a portrait orientation. To shoot a vertical panorama, set the camera to a landscape orientation.) Take the first shoot. Pivot the camera on the tripod head for the next shot, overlapping by somewhat less than half of the last shot. Continue for the rest of the panorama. Stitch them together in Photoshop by following the directions within the program's help section. (Tip: Shoot two versions of the first shot and the last shot. In the first shot of the first shot, bring your finger into the frame to point to the right. This will orient you as to the start of the series. After the last shot, shoot it again, this time with your finger pointing to the left. This shows you the end of the series.)

The most important thing would be to zoom in a little so the photo isn't distorted. Then when you "stitch" the photos together, there should be any problem. Once the camera is set, take multiple shots of your scene.
