How do you remove rust stains from automotive paint without harming it?
I have a white car. While parked in a parking garage during a rainstorm, water with rust particles dripped on my roof all night, leaving behind rust stains all over the roof of my car. I tried washing/scrubbing it off the next day with little success. I also tried krud kutter all-purpose cleaner, goo-gone and windex. None of these things really did anything. The stains are still on there and very unsightly. Any suggestions on how to get these rust stains off my paint without harming the paint itself?

If its a rust stain, the rust is going trough the paint and into the metal which means you need to repaimt your car. Now, if its hard water stains that don't seem to come off go to your local automotive store and buy a clay bar. When you wash your car,wet the car,rub the clay bar on Said area, rinse and repeat. @least 1-2 times. The clay bar does not scratch or damage the paint. Dry the car when finished than wax (preferably a water based wax). Look @ the link below they sell professional grade detail stuff.Hope this helps!
