UK. Are there any other PAYE Agency Staff out there being suddenly clobbered for extra tax?

No warning just removing a large sum from your wages on top of the normal tax you pay.

Update:

Hi Both,

In February I had a tax letter stating that I was to be on BR.

I fought that successfully and retained my old tax code.

Then I had another letter to say that I was to be be on Supertax.

Reasons stated upon enquiry that I had four full time jobs. Host Company, Agency, Parent Company to the Agency and the Agency that produces the payroll.

Explaining that there are only 168 hours in a week and that I only work for one Company (my Agency) and the others were as stated. I then asked them for a good and proper reason why I was being falsely represented.

Immediately and without an answer I had a letter stating that my old tax code was applicable. No appologies.

So, I am on my original tax code, no pay rise for three years and penalized.

We need to know how that came about. Typically the only reason would be a change in tax code.

If you have recently had another temporary job with another agency, you may be on two employers records, thereby requiring a tax code amendment.

    -----Edit-----

That sounds really very odd! HMRC wouldn't normally apologise (unfortunately) for errors like that anyway, even if they are in error.

You will have to contact your agency to find out why HMRC has on it's records you listed as an employee in, not only their agency listing, but also their parent, holding and subsidaries and try to get yourself removed there. Sounds very much like an agency problem!

How do you comprehend that this could be a uk-extensive issue and not in basic terms a issue with the UKBA in Cardiff? 5 weeks training seems ridiculous for a tremendously in touch activity like this. i've got self belief the two she is telling porkies or something is incorrect in the Cardiff place of work. Asking questions like regardless of if or no longer they consume Chop Suey has no bearing on "assuming all orientals are an identical" - in case you had any "training" with regard to the project you are going to comprehend that Chop Suey is a Westernised version of a chinese language dish (ie that that's served in takeaways, resembling the way Tikka Masala grew to become into invented in the united kingdom, no longer India) and hence a actual chinese language or different Oriental individual does not consume it. additionally the incontrovertible fact that Chop Suey is a chinese language dish potential that a actual Korean possibly does not comprehend what it grew to become into - distinctive chinese language attempt to declare asylum in the united kingdom pretending to be Korean. those varieties of trickery questions are used by way of police and different government whilst they question people. Asking boys to lie on the floor to coach how they sniped at people might reveal regardless of if or no longer that they had actual ever completed this as somebody who had never been a sniper or used a gun might make it quite glaring whilst they tried to mime the action. people DO attempt to get into the united kingdom fraudulently throughout the time of the asylum equipment. i comprehend this, you comprehend this. UKBA has to objective and ferret out the substitute ones. they are people who make a mockery of the equipment and shrink public sympathy for the actual circumstances.
