Congrats!! You just described what a will happens to be. You can get "do it yourself" will forms from some stationery stores and probably on line, too. These are easy to fill out and are legal in most states if not in all states. Good luck.

Never too young if you have assets that you want to go to a particular person. Best to at least have it notarized if not done by a lawyer. Just be sure you update it on a regular basis. You can also write up what you want for your funeral. You need to have someone designated to make financial and medical decisions for you if you are alive but unable to do those things.

Youre never too young to make a will. kids and teenagers maybe, but once you turn 18 its an extremely good idea. i would recomend you write,in your hand writing, what you want done, who you want to do it, and that its your desires after death. call a probate attorney, and ask him what the laws are for holographic wills, how your will should read and what is neccisary to make your wishes come to fruition. a probate attorney can answer all the questions you have(or he should). only ask probate attorneys. you may find one that likes the thought of helping a young person construct a will. if somebody "liquidates assets" they should have them first valued then get permision to sell the assets for that value. The person that is resposable for briging your desires is called a personal representative or executor/executrix. theyre supposed to do what the will says to the letter or as reasonably close as possible. a good probate attorney that wont run up bills is priceless for handling estates.

Well you could do it your way, but it's always best to do it at a lawyers office, as he can get witnesses, and also have it notarized, then there can be no rows over who gets what, doesn't cost that much and you can have a copy or just leave it in the lawyers safe, it can be altered any time you like.
