If you already have your Edge card (the one that comes with the GameInformer magazine), and it's still active, he should have just rolled you over to the shiny silver Pro version of the card right off the bat, no extra $ required. Shame on him!
I'm looking at the site right now, and it's interesting that they don't seem to have an "upgrade" center for people to type in their new Pro cards. Hopefully they don't expect us to make a whole new account.
However, the site does have this:
"For anything about GameStop.com or PowerUpRewards.com, just email us at PowerUp@GameStop.com and we’ll get right on it. You can also call the Customer Service Center at (877) 676-GAME and someone will be glad to help. Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. (CST); Saturday - Sunday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (CST). "
Just call the phone # and give them your new account number, and they should be able to get you up and running again.
{{Edit:}} Actually, according to one of the employees I spoke to at GameStop, your account should automatically update the moment they roll you over / transfer / upgrade your account to the Pro version. No manual updating required.

I assume I will have the same problem as you. I have an Edge Card, and I'm picking up my pre-order today and I will probably be required to upgrade. I suggest either going ahead and trying to do it on the website, or call your local Gamestop and ask for help. Good luck!

Well you can make a new accont for poweruprewards.com because the pro edge card has diffirent numbers then the free version card (it show in the back of the Edge Card Pro). If that did not work, then i dont know what to say.

depends how long you had it for.
if you have an edge card, not the free one, but the one you paid for, then you can get the Pro-card free.
just tell'em that you recently got it and they wont charge you a thing. just sway it.

Go to the store and tel them you want to upgrade to pro. I think its fifteen dollars and they do it right there, and they should give you the new card.
