laptop is suddenly slow?
hey. my laptop was working perfectly fine about 10hours ago but suddenly it became slow. especially the internet. Now i cant watch videos online because, though the audio works fine, the picture keeps freezing. there is no virus or spyware, i defragged my system and even though i had over 15GB of space i still deleted some stuff so now i have more that 20GB space but still my computer is slow. I downloaded two system updates and an adobe flash reader update today though i dont remember if it was before or after the laptop became slow. could these updates be the problem? if not does anyone have any solutions?

Well a System Restore is an option and not a drastic action as mentioned be a previous poster as you can undo it if you are not satisfied with it. Now you can download and run CCleaner it's FREE and it will clean out all the trash that is just taking up space on your PC, like cookies / temps etc, etc. Do the tour before you download it to see what it can actually get up it will not harm your system in any way. The only thing it dose that is annoying is that it signs you out everywhere, but you know your passwords etc, so no problem. Get ot at the URL below. Cheers and Good Luck.
PS Run it about once a week / month to keep things spotless.

Updates while they are downloading and installing do not really slow down your computer, unless it's quite slow. I would also recommend using CCleaner to clean your Temp Internet Files and using Disk Clean-up which comes with windows itself. Or you might have a Registry problem which CCleaner can also correct. Another cause might be Malware. To be on the safe side, Scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, great piece of software that finds virus's most Anti virus's Miss

Your temp files folder could be full try CCleaner its a free programme from MajorGeeks.com, it will clean any junk files browser history etc, you might have to log back in to all your sites that use a user name/password ie facebook, you tube & yahoo.I've had it for a couple of years now & find it very useful, another 1 is advanced system care available again from majorgeeks again it's free but they have a version you can buy & you do get a pop up to buy the full version, again I've used the free version with no problems.

The only thing I can think of without more info would be to do a system restore to a point before the updates went on, if the machine is better - the updates were you problem, if it isn't better then it is something else.
The updates can be done again later if needed.

Try a system restore - drastic but may solve your woes
BUT before you do
was it downloading some auto updates or doing a virus scan in the background???
if so wait until it has finished this
