From the Middle East to Rome, how did Saint Peter Travel? If by land, the Alps mountain is the biggest barrier?

It is next to impossible for any human to travel alone from the Middle East to Rome on sandals alone. Besides, as I have said, the Alps mountain is so high, even a seasoned mountain climber will be hard foot to climb such height without spacial gear.Of course, Gengiskan the great mongolian leader carried their elephants to that height, but, he has thousands of army to help him.

But for Saint Peter, he was, I think, by himself when he went there. Was he a Roman prisoner then?
