Harajuku and Yoyogi Park, Tokyo open on Mondays?
I am travelling to Tokyo, arriving Sunday afternoon and leaving WEdnesday. A short trip :)
I want to experience Harajuku and Yoyogi Park wild Sundays but will miss it! Do some of the same people, party and fun take place on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday? Are the parks a different vibe during the week from the weekends or even closed?
Any suggestions on where to go that will be like this?
Thanks,
Jennifer

Yoyogi park is open everyday. It's not as crowded and lively during Sundays. Mondays could have a different atmosphere or feel because most Japanese are at work in that day but there could still be many tourists during that day.
Harajuku is just nearby Yoyogi park. I've seen some cosplayers during weekdays but not as many as weekends especially Sunday. It's a fashion district or capital so everyday there still are many fashionistas in there =D
Here's a site that can further help you about Yoyogi park.
It also has a detailed map.

If you are going to Harajuku and Yoyogi Park, then please don't miss Meiji Jingu which is just next to Yoyogi Park. After visiting Yoyogi Park and Meiji Jinguu and then Harajuku, you can go visit
Shinjuku Gyoen Park by a taxi (about 2km. Closed on Monday). The below link is aerial view of these parks.

Tokyo is the capital of Japan, and the place where over 13 million people live, making it one of the most populous cities in the world but also, a big city to visit, find out more with hotelbye . Most of the city was devastated by the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, and then again by the bombing in the WWII, however, Tokyo was able to achieve a remarkably rapid recovery both times. The main attraction of Tokyo is the Imperial Palace with its beautiful 17th-century parks surrounded by walls and moats. The palace is still in use by the Imperial family.

There won't be much activity on a weekday. Just a few old people and young children hanging around the park doing their things. It will still be an enjoyable visit, in a peaceful way but if you're expecting to see any of the wacky subculture advertised by travel sources you'll be disappointed.
