how much money and effort would it take to convert an 89 dakota to 4x4?

Its an 89 Dodge dakota. I was wondering how much it would cost to make a 2wd a 4wd. Also, how much would it cost to put about a 3 inch lift on it?

Update:

if i was to install a 4x4 frame could i use a parts from a different truck? (81 toyota)

Update 2:

could i use an 81 honda frame with a 92 s10 blazer axle?

The cost of reinforcing and welding your 2WD frame to handle a 4WD conversion is way beyond the value of the end result unless you are a seasoned fabricator and excellent welder.

Your money ahead to buy a good rolling 4WD frame (axles, transmission and transfer case) that fits under the body of your truck, install and lift it as you desire.

you can't take a 2 wheel drive and convert it over, the cost would be more than you could go out and buy a truck for,the frame you have isn't set up right for 4 wheel drive,if you,l look closely at 2 wheel drive and four wheel drive you,ll see what talking about,
