The hammer was one of the greatest ever. He is still the all time home run king to me. Since he was a Brewer once, he is the correct answer. If you asked about the greatest Brewer career, Yount would get my vote.

Henry Aaron is the greatest player ever to play in Milwaukee (1954-1965), but he only played for the Brewers (1975-1976) 1 year! Robin Yount (1974–1993) 2 time AL MVP (1982 & 1989) is probably considered the greatest Seattle Pilots/Milwaukee Brewers player of all time! Paul Molitor (1978–1992) would be second and is also a Hall of Fame member! Rollie Fingers was the most decorated Brewer for one season. In 1981 Fingers was the AL MVP, AL Cy Young Award and AL Rolaids Relief Man of the Year! They were in the WS in 1982 but lost to the Cardinals! Never say never they have played decent ball, they just need that one or two missing element to win again!

Robin Yount. He spent all 20 seasons with the Brewers. He played 2856 games, had 3142 hits, including 251 home runs. Robin was the AL MVP twice once at short, once in center field, an All-Star three times, won a Gold Glove, led the AL in doubles and triples twice each, led in the number of hits and slugging percentage once each. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1999.
Yes, some day the Brewers will win the World Series. They would have won in 1982 over the Cardinals if Rollie Fingers hadn't been injured. They lost that series in seven games.

Robin Yount.
And yes, given enough time every team will win the World Series. Even the Brewers and Mariners.

Robin Yount had the best Brewers-only career. Paul Molitor had a similarly great career, but played only fifteen of his 21 years in Milwaukee. After those two, you drop off all the way to Cecil Cooper.
