I need to know who performed this classic rock/blues song please?

I heard it on classic rock FM during the week at about 4am, I was a bit wasted and didn't catch the name of the artist, it sounded like either Joe Cocker or Tom Jones singing, it was slow and bluesy for the first bit (I think) but the end built up an got rock-y and all I remember from the lyrics were:

I believe in you

(thank you baby)

I believe in you... with a great guitar solo to top it off...

... and so on, it was either I believe in you or more likely "I'll be leaving you", but iv tried searching for both and pretty much worn out my resources. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you kindly

For some reason I think you mean "Wrap It Up" by The Fabulous Thunderbirds even though the lyrics don't match. Saying it sounded like Tom Jones was a good clue.
