ok, i've seen 5 answers and i want to answer the question myself now. lol. i do believe in magic but i believe that you cant practise it; you have to be born with it. i also believe in things like demons, vampire's, ect. i know i'm crazy, but i believe you cant go through the world without wondering these things. i believe them because i think differently to everyone else. but i also believe that everyone else has believed the same thing at least one point in their lives. :D i'm just goin through a faze. i might not believe in a couple of years. :) <3 xx

I believe in Magick as it was defined by the famous occultist Aleister Crowley, in being the art and science of causing change to occur in accordance with our will.
Even people who believe in and practice the Craft don't think it is the smoke and mirrors of Hollywood. No one can twitch their nose or flip their ponytail and snap something into or out of existence, or make any ridiculous cartoony changes come into play.
Magick is about the willful manipulation of energy to effect change. All things are made of energy, and all things and even concepts have metaphysical properties by which to identify their energy signature or frequency. Knowing these properties and using them to express intent is how witchcraft is done.
This practice of willfully focusing, concentrating, and directing these energies is at the heart of many other practices and beliefs as well, such as Chi, Reiki, martial arts, etc.

Cook actually answered with very good information about witches...
Magic is real, but vampires and demons are not.
Magic as in the kind of magic that comes from witchcraft, the real craft, not the kind in Buffy the Vampire Slayer or The Sorcerer's Apprentice (*facepalm*). Witchcraft, what people would consider the occult, it's all energy and visualization.
In example: There's not REALLY a spherical purple orb of protection around that journal of mine, but I visualized one as I did a protection spell on it and lo' and behold, everyone is put off by my journal, so much as they won't even touch it. Now is this magic or is is simply chance that the one journal I've ever put a spell on is the one that they don't crack open and read? I have had a history of my journals getting lost very quickly, they've been taken from me, read etc...
You can't be born with magic, because there is no such thing as a natural witch, you have to choose the path and LEARN the skill. Witchcraft, honestly, it's not "cool," it's not "fun," it's a serious practice albeit one that is very discriminated against. As it is part of my religion, I keep that part of my life private, which it should be, as it is described in the Law of the Power to "Use not the Power for prideful gain, for such cheapens the mysteries of (Wicca and) magic."

I actually had a strange thing happen yesterday. A man I had never met before called me over so I went to go see what he wanted, as it turns out he happened to be a Cherokee medicine man and that the spirit had spoken to him to call me and anoint me. He pulled out a medicine bag and took out a healing stone, a strength stone some bear hair and tobacco. He burned a leaf and said prayers to the ancestors in Cherokee and said I am now named "Strong Bear". I have never really known that side of my family, so I was surprised to see anyone, much less a total stranger pick me out of a crowd and say what he said.He knew things that no one else could know, he knew my spirit guide, which I've told to nobody because I grew up in the city and they would just say it was because I had a high fever that I'd seen those things. I am proud of my heritage, I just don't know that side all that well. I don't know if you'd say it's magic, but I do believe in the supernatural.

I do believe in magic, but i dont believe that just anyone can practice it, i think it takes someone with a different way of thinking, and that is more connected to their spirit, and to nature. :)
