What MMORPG (free or otherwise) did you play, which did you like/dislike and why?
I have played two free-to-play so far: Cabal and Battle of the Immortals. Cabal was on a whim and after some peer pressure from some of my net-frenzied friends liked the story so far, but I don't like the fact that there is too big of a level cap, and the levels are too far apart. no auto-rute, no pet catching, paid instances (aka you need to buy entrance item if you didn't get it from some drops). After that I switched BOI. Like the story, it has all of the above. the levels are still too far apart, but at least you can earn some decent xp doing the dailies. and it compels you to play in a party, for the instances, if you want decent drops.
Now what MMORPG (free or otherwise) did you play, which did you like/dislike and why?

I played all kind of mmorpgs, and even simultaneously. I'll name a few...If I listed them all, you're going to read a book.
World of Warcraft (pay-to-play)....Yup I was one of these junkies. I was addicted for about 5 years. There was so much to do, and the world is so incredibly vast to explore. It got interesting when Burning Crusade came out, with an extended level cap to 70. I quickly made new characters of the new races that were introduced and I fell in love with the blue space goats. My main became a Draenie Shaman and I loved that a shaman was able to tank at one point. The fact that we can have flying mounts was awesome and the endgame raiding was also bringing more challenge to the table. Then Wrath of the Lich King came out...Leveling up to 80 was fun and great, and the endgame provided a lot of interesting tactical boss fights. I love mechanics like that, because it makes it more than just a click and pwn game. You actually have to follow a law to do it right. They brought back Onyxia and Naxxramas, which were initially raids from before the first expansion. I had a feeling that Blizzard (the makers of WoW) became lazy and gave players to kill some time while they were working on the next expansion. Cataclysm (3rd expansion) will be released in about a month, and I was considering to start playing once again, but maybe for a while.
Overall, I give it a 9/10.
However, I'm also waiting for Guild Wars 2 (buy-to-play)...I have a feeling it will trump WoW Cataclysm, because there are so many features it has that I cannot wait to experience. The gameworld is beautifully crafted and I have a guilty pleasure for realistic graphics incorporated with better than average gameplay. Guild Wars is great because it managed to have just that. The only downside to it is because the playerbase isn't anything compared to that of WoW's, it is not always easy to get a group together in a certain amount of time. Other than that, top-notch game.
Overall, 9/10 as well.
As far as free-to-play gaming goes, I have a few I also tried.
RuneScape (who hasn't?) Well maybe a few...There was tons to do, it was free, but I was not visually impressed. I'm probably shallow when it comes to games, but looks is not all I go for. I want to be able to experience both of best worlds. 6/10
Runes of Magic...(aka WoW clone). Actually, even though the game reminded me a lot of WoW, I was happy to discover that it is very unique actually. It imitated a good game, which is a good thing sometimes, but it also brings some of its own originality. I love that I can turn my character into a hybrid, with the unique dual class system. The world is incredibly huge, the graphics are gorgeous, and there is plenty of content to explore. Biggest downside however, is the fact that even though the company is letting you play for free up until level 52, to be able to be apart of endgame requires a bit of real cash-spending. There are even some people who spent grands on this game, just to have the top-notch gear. I enjoy a game that is free, but a game like this is only free up until engame is involved with big-money. 7/10
Sun of the Ultimate Nation (SUN online) This game is also free-to-play. The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is straight-forward, so there is no temptation to grind just because you don't understand what the questing log means. The quests are most likely linear, so leveling is fairly easy for that reason. The combat animations are excellent. The interface is pretty user-friendly. I enjoy every class and the instances are quite fun. 9/10
Perfect World International...This game is probably one of the best in the free-to-play category. Gorgeous visuals, unique classes (mermaids!!), friendly community, in-game radio! It's literally perfect, right? I have fun playing this, but it isn't the most inspiring gameplay. The combat is boring, it gets really slow when leveling. I give it an 8/10.
Another game by the creators of Perfect World is Battle of the Immortal. It is action-packed and reminds me a lot of old-school RPG games. For a 2.5D game, I was actually quite impressed. The world is huge and there is plenty to do. There is a nice pet system, as monsters can drop pet versions of themselves as loot. The pet levels with you and can help you through your battles. However I am not always a fan of click to move. I enjoy the fully 3D view in mmorpgs. This game got a 7/10 from me.
EverQuest II...I enjoyed the variety this game had to offer. This game probably has some of the most choices for a character in terms of choosing race and class. However, it is limited for those who are in the free-to-play category of players. It is pretty PFA (Pay-for-advantage) and it can be fun overall, but money is involved if you want to fully explore all of its content. 8/10.

It's tough to recommend a specific MMO game, because everyone likes something different. A game I love you may not. Check out http://mmohut.com/ for a huge list of these free mmorpg / mmo games. I personally use that site to find new games to play. Every few days I try a new game :) - It's a lot of fun because I try everything. They have like every single MMORPG categorized nicely with reviews, screenshots, videos and more. Heck they even list the game's system requirements!. Best part is all the games are free, which rocks.
http://mmohut.com/browser-games
They have a huge section for "no download" browser MMORPGs too! All with screenshots and reviews!
Enjoy!

I love MMORPG's i used to play runescape before they ruined it. That games really boring in the start and takes forever to level so i wouldnt recommend it. I recently just stopping playing WoW because I hit level 80 and I was completely addicted because it was really fun but its way too expensive. Im waiting for star wars the old republic to come out i heard that game is going to be amazing.

Anarchy Online was the only MMORPG I ever played. The PvP was the best part about it although I dislike the outdated graphics.

i play runescape i know the graphics arent the greatest but overall i like it much better than many p2p games it is even better if you get members but its not needed.
the games community is alright it use to be much better.
the quests are great they a real good storyline and they make it fun vs games like wow etc where it doesnt have to much concept to them.
it also had tons to do so i recomend playing if you havent already and stick by the boringness of the start
