Are you sure it's just wax - has the vet ruled out ear mites? I'm in the UK, and use Leo ear cleaner, but there are other products available. Hyperdrug (online) make one of their own brand, which is cleaper. But I'd find out why this is happening all the time. The GSD ear, being upright, should mean you don't normally have the need to be cleaning that often. Maybe the infection isn't being cleared properly each time. If this persists, I'd ask the vet to do a swab, culture and sensitivity, to identify the correct antibiotic drops to use to hit any bug on the head (bug as in infection, not .... a parasite-bug)

Take the dog to the vet to have his ears properly cleaned. The vet will prescribe drops for you to use, probably twice a day. (make sure you warm the drops to body temperature or the dog will make a fuss if you put cold drops in)
If the ear smells it's either a yeast or bacterial infection or a combination of both. It's not just wax.
The sooner you get on to this the easier and quicker it will be to resolve it. It won't go away without treatment.

I think it`s a trip to the vets they will treat the infection and give you the correct ear wash for the dog . if it`s not treated it will cause your dog a hell of allot of pain that`s for sure.
I wouldn`t be surprised if the dog is not in pain already .

NOT "wax"-EAR MITES or yeast or bacterial infection=all different treatment.
