Now you're going to rant about it in a new question? lol

  • NASCAR only does the the Green-White-Checkers rule when the yellow comes out on the final laps where a normal caution means race is over in the pre-Green-White-Checkers era of NASCAR where there was finishes under caution.

and if the caution comes out after the white flag waves and the leader past the start-finish line when the white flag came out, Race is over, no attempt for GWC because they reach the point of "It's over".

The rule is: Once the leader of the race has taken the white flag, there will be no green/white/checker. The race is over.

  • 1 decade ago

The leaders took the white flag once that happens there can be no gwc

also since the wreck happened near the finish line there also was no racing back to the line

I don't understand what you're asking. The leaders took the white flag and THEN the caution came out. So the field is frozen and the race is over.

It's a very simple concept, not much to understand.

because AJ's wreck happened after Harvick/Bowyer crossed the finish line to make 1 lap to go...and if they do (which they did), the race is official once a caution flag flies...Scoring loops scan the track to find out who places what.

Sorry, but no GWC was the right call. (honestly i would have liked a GWC occur personally)

Looks like everyone has answered this question for you.

You call yourself racer9. Was this your first race?

He had to let things play out enough to make sure it wouldn't be safe to race back to the S/F line. Had AJ come to rest far past the line, the race would've gone on. I feel your pain. The G-Wh-Ch is a poorly designed rule and often a retarded way to end a race.

i think they shud have let them finish
