White cabinets. If you glaze them with a white floor, the cabinets will look dingy. There's a ton of white shades, so get a lot of samples & compare them to the floor on a sunny day. For a Country French look, do your walls yellow. For a masculine or modern look, do gray walls. For an Americana look, do red on the walls. A poplular trend is to do the lower cabinets one color & the upper ones another. For instance, the lower cabinets could be the deepest shade of blue of the countertop, & the upper cabinets white (then you wouldn't have to worry so much about the shade of white on the lower cabinets closest to the floor.)

I love glazed cabinets. I would use a vanilla/cream coat of paint and glaze them with a brown glaze. It gives them a rustic but cozy kitchen feel. Or you could try crackle paint and that would have a similar effect. Look both up online and you will see what I am talking about. Maybe switche a couple of cabinet doors out for windows (see through or frosted, your choice) and some cheap cabinet lighting. It will look really nice. For the walls I would do a very neutral color. You don't want any of it too be overpowering. Maybe one shade lighter or darker than the cabinets. If I were to do the cabinets in a cream color, I would do one shade lighter on the walls like off white.

Also, you can paint laminate countertops. Once again google it online. They can turn out to look really good if done right.

    Have fun!

When we moved into our house we had white cabinets in the kitchen with a nasty peachy color on the walls and ceiling. After some consideration I decide to paint my kitchen walls a color called Cracker Bitz it's a nice warm color and I found it at Lowe's. The ceiling I painted white and I made curtains in a fabric that had a similar color as the walls in the background but also had reds, blues and greens. I then carried those colors as my accents throughout my kitchen. For example potted herbs, and artwork. My stainless appliances even look good with it.

One of the most efficient ways to add color to a kitchen would be to paint the kitchen cabinet. Since cabinets usually occupy the greater part of the kitchen, adding color to them would be a great way spice up the kitchen Decor.

For the kitchen walls, the best bet would be to install new tiles in trendy designs and deep tones all over the kitchen or above the kitchen counters. Apart from looking beautiful and colorful, tiles make cleaning and wiping easy and simple.

A monochromatic color scheme with matching cabinet, countertop and wall colors can be spiced up by creating a focal point in the kitchen in bold contrasting colors and stenciled motifs.

Paint your walls a soft, pale yellow and the cabinets white or off white. You can use cobalt blue accents around the room and give it a French country look.

It depends on the look you want. But I see you're stuck. Go shopping. Find a canister set or a vase or kitchen rug or decoration. Something you really like.

You get the idea....Then work off that for your colors.

I would leave the cabinets white and do the walls in a rich golden cream (wheat) color. http://www.myperfectcolor.com/ProductDetails.asp?P...
