What can i eat that will give me the most energy in the shortest amount of time to run?

I like to run in the morning to work, but i don't really want to wake up a whole hour to eat before running. I'd like to eat and run in about 20 mins to a half hour. I usually go with a banana or fruit. But i don't get as much energy as i'd like. Are there any other foods that digest quickly that are great for quick energy? I usual run between 2.5 to 7 miles.

    pasta. eat a small portion of cold pasta before you run and an apple

    the pasta will give you the boost and the apple will keep u feeling full

    Any isotonic sports drink will give you a quick energy boost with minimum digestion time. A candy bar will also give you a quick but short-lived energy rush.

    I'm not so sure about meal replacement drinks - they d contain a lot of energy, but they're designed to release it slowly so you can go until your next mealtime. They might work for you - I'm no expert with them.

    uhm, i guess protein bars, energy drinks and meal replacement drinks can help you.

    I used to drink meal replacement drinks, and they wold wake me up, and get me energized. try it. (:
