My dog is hurt and I saw 2 fleas on her.?
First of all, i know some of you will say to consult our vet. I have been to the vet twice this week already. I just seen the fleas tonight. My chihuahua got attacked by a collie when i took her for a walk. She was hurt pretty bad. Is taking medication that makes her sleep and rest. She takes her Sentinel heart worm and flea preventative monthly. Never missed a dose. I saw 2 fleas crawling on her tummy tonight. Am not sure what to do about that. I cant bath her because of her injuries. Anyone have any suggestions?

Just catch the fleas and flush them. They might have hitchhiked over from the collie or from the vet's office. Don't sweat it unless you see more. Just take care of your pup.

Your poor little dog. I hope she's recovering ok from the nasty attack. I hope the Collie owner is paying your vet fees.
The Sentinel you're giving your dog prevents fleas from breeding so your dog and your home won't become flea infested. Sentinel is a good product. Your dog has just picked up a couple of hitch hiker fleas.
Call your vet to ask if it's ok to give your dog a Capstar tablet to check if it's fine with the medication your dog is taking. Capstar will kill any fleas on your dog within 1/2 an hour. You can get Capstar from your vet or a pet store, it's not expensive. Some supermarkets stock it.
ADD: She doesn't need a monthly preventative like Frontline or Revolution. She's already on Sentinel. She just needs a one off knock down tablet to kill the hitch hiker fleas.

Oh sorry your Chihuahua was attacked. I have five of them. I don't know where you live, but we had a long hot summer and fleas are everywhere. So even though she's on preventive, she still may get one. Try this: Use some kind of spray gel, I use that Aussie brand and spritz a little where you saw the fleas to slow them down. Then comb them out with a flea comb, or any comb with short teeth very close together. You might want to try Frontline Plus. It is th only flea preventive that kills the eggs too.

If the vet says ok she can have capstar which will kill the fleas in 30 mins but doesn't last like the advantix or whatever. Her monthly flea preventative should kill them. Just ask the vet about it (they are used to getting calls from worried owners-it's your baby and you have a right). I wouldn't worry to much if there's only two, maybe it didn't have a chance to work yet. Poor baby I''m sorry to hear she (and you) are having a hard time. Keep your chin up, it'll help her too since she can read your emotions. :)

I dipped my dogs two times and positioned those spot ons (I won't named it, whether curiously in alot of the f/t solutions) (that became in the previous i all set to work in puppy shop), the ticks nevertheless got here back as a results of fact i did not handle my residing house and my dogs's immunity protection became low. and likewise i did not understand that i became poisoning my dogs. Please do not dip if there're open wounds! prepare those anti-itch and wound cream on the sores! right here is what I did for the flea difficulty (this basically paintings properly with fleas, ticks are harder) I sprayed my dogs with apple cider vinegar. a million/4 acv with a million cup water. After a whilst, i found alot of little black/brown suckers on the floor. Vaccum some f/t powder and suck up the suckers, then throw the bag. superb is burn the bag. Spray each week yet another is upload repellant essence oils to the collars (those fabric varieties). some drops of Eucalyptus Oil, peppermint, rosemary and white cedar do not use citronella on cats. Quote Use ¼ tsp. of Eucalyptus Oil in a 8-10 ounce spray pumper bottle. Fill with water. positioned the pumper on a great mist. Spray your place with the mist. Spray the carpet, furnishings, vehicle, puppy’s beds everywhere. Fleas hate the aroma and run for the door. try this thrice each week. It leaves a great mist that dries fantastically much rapidly. your place might have an extremely sparkling fragrance. Spraying your puppy is likewise a great thought. It doesn’t injury them and it enables shop fleas away. try this recipe all year, yet fairly try this ordinary interior the summertime months whilst fleas are at there height. Vacuuming is likewise significant for selecting up eggs.

If you have just been to the vet this week then call him and explain that you have noticed adult fleas on your pet despite taking her Sentinel. If he feels she is healthy enough, he can prescribe you a single dose of Revolution. Most people don't realize that veterinary staff get follow up calls all the time updating any health changes. These calls don't cost you anything.

if you can't crush them with a tweezers then get a flea comb at the Pet store and gently comb them out. You can also dip a Q-tip in medicinal peroxide to attempt to stop or pick them up. I found a tweezers worked for me. My little old man is white and tan so the fleas are easy to spot on him My Gidget is a shiny black and She gets Advantage the first of every month and we have no fleas now,

Awee poor baby:( I'm sorry that happened. I would suggest trying to pick off the flees yourself, I don't know the extent of her injuries but if anything is open on her back, it may not be a good idea to use frontline on her.
