will a bad axel make a car shake?

i have a 02 pontiac gtp and ive replaced the wheel bearing and it still shakes it feels like a loose wheel but they r all tight. It is definitely coming from the passengers side of the car cause when i turn the wheel to the right it goes away. it does not make a cliking sound but shimmy's

first off bring it to a shop and have the balance of the wheels checked. it is possible for an axle to cause a vibration, they have dampeners on them if one of those brakes it could shake. still if it goes away when turning right it would more commonly be an issue on the left side (driver) due to the weight being shifted to that side.

I used to have a 2000 Pontiac GTP, I loved it, just not the repair bill. Speaking from experience I wouldn't be surprised if you have a bad axle or even two. I had both axles in the front of mine replaced, TWICE! Best thing just take it back to the shop that fixed it and have it checked out. (If they replaced your bearings and are an upstanding shop, they should have noticed and mentioned any axle damage) Also there is nothing wrong with second opinions. Good luck, I really miss my GTP :( She got totalled.

Most likely the problem was caused by imbalanced wheels (could have something sticking to them, like road tar).

It is possible for a bent axle or worn axle to cause a shake or shimmy.

GM cars break down a lot. Next time get a Ford.
