I think MP4-Converter will do this. You only need to download it and click 3 buttons:

    1. select files

    2. convert

    3. copy to iPod

    Hey, guy

zDownload the VLC app and just drag them in. If not work and to save some trouble you should resort to a powerful and cheap tool like my favorite tool called 4Videosoft iPod Video Converter.

    * Convert all the video formats to iPod MP4

    * Convert all the audio formats and extract audio from video to MP3, AAC, WAV, M4A, AIFF

    * All-round editing functions

    * Supports all the iPod versions: iPod touch 4, iPod nano, iPod classic, iPod shuffle

iPod support MP4,H264 format. So you need a converter to help first.I personally use Cucusoft iPod Video Converter Suite. It helps me convert both DVD media and video file media to iPod video/iPod movie easily. It works well for me, you can give it a try.

    Free download at: http://www.dvd-video-soft.com/dvdvideosuite/cucuso...

    Quick guide:

Step 1: Convert your videos to MP4 or H.264 supported by iPod.

Step 2: Import the converted videos to iTunes.

Step 3: Connect your iPod to your computer, sync the videos from iTunes to your iPod.

    Hope it helps

hi, guy, it is easy to check it out, but first, you should know the standard TV and video supported by iPod (from apple.com):

    1. H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats

    2. MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats

More Info about iPod Touch, see the link form apple.com:

I ever got many DVDs and i could not backup them on my iPod either, and got my videos in .avi, .flv, .mov, .wmv, .3gp format etc, even some MP4 could not compatible with my iPod either. So, first I convert them to Apple iPod video format with SnowFox DVD & Video to iPod Converter. It could convert dvds/vids and add the converted videos to iTunes automatically, and what i need do is just to drag the files to iPod.
