I always thought that the UN ranked Canada a better place to live than the US. What happened?
Why is Canada ranked 8th and the US ranked 4th?

Canada used to be #1, but then the UN realized that we weren't counting all the First Nations people in our statistics...whoops!

The real difference is most of these categories they rate is ,as the first article says-minimal-in the top 15 or 20 developed countries..it's not necessarily a consequence of us being-or doing things "worse"-it's more an indication perhaps of a few doing things slightly better than they were...

I read BOTH of those news stories and the USA is NOT mentioned at all. So where did the 4th place ranking come from ??
