Do squirrels hibernate?
I have a pet squirrel, he is acting all sleepy now and Im afraid he might be dying, is it just hibernation? Or is he dying, cause it's like almost winter time.
Lol, might add that he was dropped from a tree by his mom before his eyes were even opend lol, also he is in good health and we got a thing from the vet saying we were allowed to keep him because he is very codependant lol. He can't stand to be away from us and he loves to sleep in your hands.
also, lol i loved the charlie chocolate factory movies, and also we do have a lisence thingy.

Having a squirrel as a pet might not be the best idea. They are wild and should remain in the wild unless they have been injured. If injured, then I would contact a vet who deals in smaller animals.
Yes, some squirrels hibernate depending on the need to adapt to their environment but then again there might be something medically wrong with your squirrel.

Yes and No. Squirrels only semi hibernate. An inside pet is unlikely to require hibernation as the food supply is plentiful.
It is illegal to have a wild animal as a pet without a license.

No, tree squirrels are lively all 365 days around. you won't see them as in many cases interior the wintry climate, on account that they stay of their nests to look after physique warmth. yet their bodies do no longer decelerate nore do they sleep the comprehensive time. so the do no longer HIBERNATE.
