How can I get my girlfriend to stop smothering me?

I've had some girlfriends in the past, and they've all been so. . . demanding. Of course I like them, but I don't want to talk to them and be with them every hour of every day. The same thing is happening with my girlfriend right now. She calls me and makes me talk to her for a really long time every night. She's always following me at lunch, and after school. I feel smothered. As much as I love her, I want her to be a part of my life. PART of my life, not the whole thing. Any suggestions on how to get her to stop smothering me?

Just tell her to stop being so clingy. She might not even realize that she is being that way.

Tell her you like her, but you need time for guy stuff too.

Just tell her straight out, if she's really a good girlfriend, she'll understand. She might be a little angry at first, but once she takes some time to herself she will realize you're right.
