Does anyone know what this spin is called?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wM4ENGaIbA
^^The last spin in the combination at the end (at roughly 3:38 minutes). She does a sit spin then gets up and sort of droops her body forward. Hard to explain, so just watch the video! Does anyone know what this spin is called? I've seen it done by a girl at my rink but I'm not sure if it has a name.

Most people call it a "butt spin." I'm not kidding, either - coaches, judges and skaters all use that name when discussing or describing that butt-in-the-air position. (Foldover is a good way to describe it.)
However, no one WRITES that on their program planning sheets when registering for a competition.
The polite name is an "A-frame spin."
Source(s): From http://www.skatejournal.com/spin.html : A-Frame Spin This spin was popularized by Canadian skater, Emmanuel Sandhu. It is often incorporated into combinations following a sit spin. It may be performed forward or backward. The skater rises from the sit position, grabs the free foot, ankle or calf depending on the desired effect or flexibility. Ideally, as the skater leans forward his head touches free leg and his body folds neatly over the straight free leg. This spin was nicknamed the "butt spin" by fans when it first appeared on the competitive scene because the skater's backside was in the air pointed toward the ceiling. In the most successful cases, the bodyline resembles a capital "A". - Anonymous1 decade ago
Some of the coaches I know that have coached this to their pupils don't really know the name of it. But there are two different names for it (much like how a camel spin and parallel spin are the same thing).
Pineapple spin and Umbrella Spin.
Both of these names are quite common for that spin (in the UK at least). There may be other names for it that I don't know.
Hope I helped you!
