How to disable Y!Messenger?

Go to your Mail page and click on the downward facing arrow at the top of that app, scroll to SIgn Me Out of Chat and click.

You'll see a red Disconnected at the top of the messenger and this way it will stay shut down until you open it again.

Any other way will leave it so it reopens every time to reopen your Mail page.

It's a new form of spam that Yahoo has been working to prevent for a while now ...

Meanwhile, to block individual senders in Messenger, go to Messenger > Preferences > Ignore List, and add the IM name or e-mail of the person you wish to block. Click Add, then OK or Apply.

If you receive contact requests from unknown persons, go to the Ignore List and check 'Ignore anyone who is not on my contact list.' You can still add contacts, and this solution may be needed only temporarily.

If you will click on your name when you go into Yahoo Answers, it gives you the options to not receive anything from anybody.

Go into stealth settings on your toolbar @adjust your settings from there. U can choose who to block so on.
