Help with 89 Ford F 150 Steering Column?

I am replacing the steering column in my 89 Ford F150 (C6 Automatic on column). How do I remove the Gear linkage on the column?

    The linkage rod "snaps in" to a nylon bushing on the arm on the steering column, and is really hard to remove. Ford makes a tool for the job. Can you get a pry bar in there? or you could heat the bushing , make it easyer to pop apart.

    I had an 89 F-one hundred and fifty. as quickly as you're finding at changing the column using fact of problems with the ignition change, verify your indoors sight components shops. there's a rebuild kit obtainable for approximately $30 which will fix the problem.

    I believe there are rods and pins that can be disassembled.
