What was your sex education like at school?
I live in Aberdeen, Scotland, and we got our proper sex education at 14.
This consisted of being shown all the different types of contraception, the risks were explained, and how they work. We were told where to get them free, where to go for the morning after pill, abortions etc.
We were shown pictures of STDs and told how they're spread and how to avoid them.
We got to practice putting condoms on dildos. :)
What was your sex education like and how old were you when you got it? Oh and where are you from?
I got the puberty/birth/basic sex education at 10, but I mean the ACTUAL safe sex one :L

I was 13/14, and was shown the same STD pics that you probably saw... and this was a LONG time ago. We were TOLD about contraception - which at the time were ONLY condoms, The Pill, foam/jelly, and the IUD - we weren't allowed to SEE any of them, not even pictures. They REALLY emphasized the risks, pushing abstinence on us.
Boys were segregated from the girls for the classes - and I heard that the girls' class included a talk about the menstrual cycle (a bit late, but at least they heard about it!!).
That was the ONLY formal sex education I received - we didn't even get the puberty/birth/basic sex education you got until that time.
I'm from the US in the upper midwest, and got the education in the 1970's.

The girls school was opposite and one girl taught many of us all about it.
