Laid-Off Exec. Asst. needs a job ...?

Laid-Off Exec. Asst. w/Marketing background needs a job. What's the best way to find it?

I've been a exec. level assistant for 10 years. Prior to that I had 15 years of marketing communications experience. I got laid-off 3 weeks ago and really need to find a job. I've been on Careerbuilder, Monster, Indeed, Craigslist, and Fins. Am I missing something? I'm not getting any responses. I'm feeling very frustrated and not very sure of myself now. I even started my own blog (http://have2work-seekingemployment.blogspot.com/) to chronicle my search. I feel like I'm missing an important search site, but so many of them really just want you to click on their ads and you never actually get to the job posting, or if you do, I just haven't clicked enough. Help!!!!

Without knowing you, what you've tried, where you live, what your resume looks like, how well you write your cover letters, and specific skill sets you have it is hard to provide you an answer. I would really focus on my resume and cover letter to see if it really represents you well and convinces others to read it so they will hire you. The same with your cover letters. I would also make sure you apply outside of the traditional job sites as there are a lot of people out of work applying at those locations. This means to research companies and see who are growing or ask friends. You may also want to ask some to review your resume and provide you feedback. I hope this helps and wish you all the best. Good luck

There are two sites you should put your information.

Linkedin is a good site which you can network and post your resume. It is an excellent site.

glocap is another site in which you can also post your resume and get e-mail alerts for administrative positions as well.

    Good luck to you
