I'm short and want to play Quads?

I'm a freshman in the marching band [[sideline]] and I am curious about the opportunity to play Quads around my Junior year. Problem is, I'm pretty short (5 foot 1). I don't think I'm going to grow much more because my sister and brother are pretty short and my mom is as well. Aside from being short, I'm a girl, and girls are built different than men in muscle structure so they [guys] are more suitable to play quads.

I've taken lessons on basic percussion, you know... drums, rhythms, mallet percussion for a couple years now.

Any suggestions on how to improve to show I that I can be a future Quad prospect for the marching band?

That's cool im trying out for quads too, next fall season. More than anything you've got to that you mean business from day 1 and just work on rudiments. Work with someone on the quad line have them teach you the warm ups that they're doing now and anything else you fell that you need help with,That would be the best way to prepare yourself. If you don't have marching experience yet try working with an upperclassman and learning how to read the drill charts.

Hope this helps and good luck at try outs :) and show those boys who can really march quads!haha
