Nero 10 multimedia suite doesn't burn DVDs but CDs are fine?

I wanted to burn my project .img file on a DVD on nero express and burning ROM but it won't work, even after 5 attempts (Kodak DVD-R) it still fails at 3% (always fails at 3%) and it just tells me it failed, doesn't tell me why. When I thought it's cause my driver wasn't meant to burn CDs, I tried using a blank CD-R to burn music and it worked. (Mind you it failed but atleast it went to 100%)And shockingly that CD has music that i burnt and I can pop it in to listen to music just fine. I tried burning music with that same DVD in hopes it could probably work but it fails really quick, at lets say 8%, but nonetheless fails.

I don't understand how to fix this problem, could there be any salvation for my blank DVDs? (My disk drive has a logo saying 'DVD multi player'. When I first opened up my laptop it prompted me to make 4 DVD backups, and back then it burned 4 DVDs just fine! Why the hell isn't burning DVDs now?) I did try using the burner that was included with the laptop before I installed nero 10, I think it was called Cyberlink Power2go, but DVD still failed to burn the .img file that I needed. IDK what to do, any ideas on how to get this thing burning DVDs successfully again?
