how would I start my story?

Hi, i've just got some random idea; i like fantasy books like Harry potter. and the vampire academy. i've got this story planned out in my head: Its this girl called Sally and she's about 15/16 years old. no one speaks to her in school because she's... well, not popular. and she lives in a care home. her life really sucks basically. then she finds out that she has magical powers and she has to save the world.

i kinda know what the start of the story's going to be, but i'm not sure how to write it. it starts off with Sally waking up from a dream that she cant remember then going to school with her only friend. there she meets a new girl and she's part of the hole magic thing.

I know what i'm gonna put in it; i just can't write it... good. a little help?

    Saving the world is a big job. I have a better idea if you’re willing to take a chance. Since no one talks to Sally because they think they’re better than her. So, why not let her find out about her magical powers and then end up saving the town or the school? Being indebted to someone they poked fun at all that time would be truly ironic.
