I want to write to my supposed father, but how do I?
okay so my mom told me who my supposed father might be. but we don't know. she had asked him to take a DNA test a couple months ago and he said he would like to and if i am his daughter he would want to get to know me. thing is, we haven't heard from him and my mom thinks he's scared she'll ask him for money. but we can't cause he had signed his legal rights away(which makes no since cause we don't know if he is my dad) i saw pictures and i really look like his father, him, and his brother. he also has two other kids and one of them looks just like me when i was a little kid. I really want to write him and tell him i was want to find out if he's my father and that we don't need none of his money. i just want to get to know him and spend time with him, that's all. and i'm graduating 2011 and i would like for him to come, please help me, i don't know what to say to him

DEAR FRIEND, BY ALL MEANS WRITE AND TELL HIM EXACTLY WHAT YOU WROTE HERE. THAT YOU WANT HIM IN YOUR LIFE. THAT BEING THERE IS NOT ALWAYS ABOUT MONEY, ESPECIALLY IF YOU WERE ALWAYS TAKEN CARE OF AND DID NOT SUFFER. MANY A DAD WANTS TO COME FORWARD AND ARE AFRAID, BECAUSE THEY HAD AND HAVE NO MONEY. IT IS NOT ALWAYS THEIR FAULT. AT BEST YOU COULD AND SHOULD MEET YOUR SIBLINGS.GOOD .LUCK

It sounds like you already know what you want to say to him. That you want to spend time with him without having to worry about bad consequences, as there are none. In this situation, you don't have to communicate with him elegantly. You just say what you want to say, and the right words will come out.

say everything you said here to him. tell him you just want to get to know him. everyone deserves to know their parents. im sure hes scared that you will hate him for never being in your life. it is a big step for both of you. he probably doesnt want to let you down. i hope you do find out hes your dad and everything works out.
