Can anyone recommend a wall paper remover that works well?

Ive heard DIF doesnt work,

Ive heard hot water and vinegar, along with scoring pad and a wallpaper knife (scrappin knife ala putty knife) works well

Im not renting a steamer, there's just not that much wallpaper to take down....

Anyone got any suggestions or used anything that worked quickly and effectively?

    Hi Peter Griffin,

I like to use the Chomp Concentrated Wallpaper Remover. It safe liquid that speeds the removalof all types of wallpaper. Penetrates fast, soaks through paper immediately. Contains no gels, sprays on easy, is safe and pleasant to use, 5 times less toxic than baby shampoo. Works on all types of wallpaper. Will not stain surroundings. Excellent on vinyl, coated, raditional, grasscloth, and other papers. Effectively breaks down cellulose, wheat, clay, clear pastes. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002Q7IC1Y?ie=UTF...

Try Downy or some other fabric softener. Use about 1/3 cup softener to 2/3 cup hot water. Spray it on the scored wall with a pump garden sprayer. Wait 15 - 20 minutes and peel wallpaper off.

We used a steamer and it wasn't that expensive, http://stephanieathome.blogspot.com/2010/08/weeken... But if you don't want to buy/rent one you could try using the steam from an iron. That was really the only thing that worked for us when we took down our wallpaper. We tried hot water and vinegar as well as store bought chemical remover and nothing worked.

all depends on how the wall paper was applied. I have done it where it comes down in nice sheets and others where it took chunks of drywall with it.

The best method I have come across is the steam but if you choose not to go that way then hot water with a scrapping knife should do the trick.

The ONLY thing that works for me is DIF and a Paper Tiger. Buy them by name, do not go for the "compare to" brands, they NEVER work for me and I have removed wallpaper for several people.

If you peel off the vinyl coating, everything works!
