My two 8 month old cats are depressed?
This passed Friday, their brother got hit by a car, and before we buried him, his two brothers were licking him, and trying to drag him away, I'm assuming to try to wake him up, or bury him themselves, but ever since then the two of them have been sleeping, and eating and just sitting around. Before Rebel(my poor baby) died, they would always be running around, and(LITERALLY) running up the walls, and chasing each other, just having fun like cats do, but now Shade and Hugger(the two brothers) seem down, and too melancholy... What can I do to make them(And myself) feel better. We buried him in my yard, underneath a tree, and I sit with him every morning and night... he was way too young to go. The person who hit him didn't even stop...
I have so much anger and disbelief, and I don't know what to do with myself, or his two brothers...
PLEASE help... what can I do?

Awe poor kitties. What happened to your cat is unfair but you need to You need to deal with your own grief. The person might not have stopped because they felt bad or guilty and didn't want to face you or they didn't know what they hit. Your cats might actually be picking up on your mood or sadness. I would try to give them extra attention or play with them more. If you think their condition is serious maybe talk to your vet about it. My older cat got hit and he had kind of made him self a surrogate mom to my kitten. The kitten was sad but we gave her lots of attention and she got over it quickly.

i think of which you need to placed the domestic dog in a cage for a rapid time(the place it is around the cats) for an hour or 2. so the dogs can get used to seeing the cats and not get to excited whilst they're around..then flow him into yet another room so he isnt cooped up interior the cage. try this 2 -thrice an afternoon ..additionally the cats ought to be waiting to smell the recent domestic dog and get used to him being around their residing house.

Don't let them run in the street. I have a house cat and she got into a fight with something and learned her lesson. Since then she's just happy to be inside where she's safe and everyone likes her.

pat the cats a lot and talk to them. try not to leave them alone if you can help it (we all need to work). i'm so very sorry to hear that. that's horrible. that maniac should be in jail. i know what it's like to lose a pet, but they'll get over it, and, eventually, you'll feel better too. spending time with your family and people who are important to you can help, too.
and it might help you to get rid of his stuff so you won't be reminded all the time.

the two cats are understandably depressed. cats mourn their dead too. i had two cats (a mother and daughter) and when the mother died (aged 16) the daughter (aged 14) got very depressed and went quiet for a couple of weeks. when you think about it they had spent the cat equivilent of 72 years together. don't worry they will bounce back. however it may take a while.

Grieving is a natural process for all animals and heals with time. Maybe if you cheer yourself up in the meantime they will sense your happiness and start being playful with you again.

They will get over it, just give them time.
I'm very sorry for your loss, but this is a common occurrence with outdoor cats.
