Microsoft Word Documents Won't Open Without Having to Save First?

Hey,

I have a problem! My Microsoft Word documents will not open without me having to first save them. Word files from my email and my online class website will not open. Everytime I try to open a document without first saving, it tells me that I don't have permission to access this document. It's only been happening for the past week or so.

Man, if your Word does that, consider yourself blessed! Documents edited right out of an email without being saved first are temporary files, and disappear totally when they're closed or when Word exits.

There are daily questions here by people who didn't know that, worked for hours on a project, finished up, went to bed and woke up the next morning to find all their work irretrievably gone.

What version of Word do you have, 'cause I don't know of any such feature in Word versions through Word 2007.

    Hope that helps.
