How can I overcome, being shy, and feeling weird when meeting new people, or going out on a date? Please help,?

    In psychology, somthing called exposure therapy is used all the time for people with social anxiety. Basically all you can do is go out and slowly start exposing yourself to other people. Take bigger and bigger chances each time you do. Start saying hi to strangers. Start up a conversation with the cutie in line ahead of you. Just take small risks and over time it will pay off. Idk if this is the reasoning either but another tool involves cognitive behavioral therapy. The whole idea behind it is that your behavior is caused by your thoughts. Change your thoughts ans your behavior will follow. Work on making yourself feel confident and beautiful inside first. I probably sound like a crazy person lol but it honestly helps.

    im the same..

    i think the only thing that helps is experience.. if you put yourself in situations youll realise theyre not as bad as you thought, and it will eventually become easier to do
