Good old AK-47 is right. Any laptop will do. What you need to decide is what program you want to use. If the program you like most is a Mac program, get a MacBook. If you are happy with a Windows program, do not get a macbook. All laptops are the same under the skin. They're all made in China with the same internals (except Macs but they're more than twice the price). I would say that you shouldn't pay more than $400 before taxes for a suitable laptop.
